I’ve also been responsible for coordinating TLC community parties and other social gatherings. I have diligently worked to build solid relationships with county officials in Regional Planning, Enforcement, and Film LA in an effort to strengthen our collective voice with key decision makers. Protecting our community against commercial Event Venue development will continue to be a critical area of focus in 2024. A committed, conscientious Board is an important part of that mission. I have served on the TLC Board for the past 4 years and enjoy the work and responsibilities it entails. I experienced the adverse impact on our community of the Fantasy Island venue and subsequent party houses and the way we came together to work with the County to ensure our voices were heard as the North Area Plan was crafted. Our community will need to be active as the Brookview wedding venue on Triunfo Canyon, and possibly other party venues, moves through the County planning and CUP process. A strong effort will be needed so that the County hears our community’s concerns, and our way of life is preserved. The “Creears” name is still on the original mailbox slot at The Old Place Restaurant. I first became a member of the TLCA Board in 2004, continuing to serve on the Board for many years. I took some time off for personal reasons while continuing to attend all open board meetings. I was fortunate to be elected again 2 years ago and have served as the Recording Secretary for this past year. I will continue to utilize my past Board experience, passion for our unique community, full knowledge of the time and responsibility it takes to serve and a commitment to get things done.
